When I was in the healing process, I decided I wanted to show others that there is a way through and a way out. I wanted to support others on their journey, and I knew I wanted to give back.
When I was in the depths of it, I didn’t have the capacity to navigate the health system on my own. I was so grateful for the people who were placed in my path — people who helped me recognize that what I was experiencing was trauma.
For most of my life, I thought trauma only meant something dramatic, like a soldier coming back from war. But I’ve since learned that trauma encompasses so much more. There is also generational trauma — the patterns and pain we inherit from our families. It can be the hardest to recognize because it’s the only life we’ve ever known. It feels “normal,” even when it isn’t healthy.
For me, I tried to cope with an eating disorder, alcohol, and a lifelong struggle with depression. Thankfully, today we are learning more and more about trauma and how to treat it. And for me, part of that treatment has been learning to speak to myself with compassion.
That’s where affirmations came in. At first, they felt almost too simple — just words. But over time, I realized words are powerful. Repeated often enough, they shape the way we see ourselves, the way we carry ourselves, even the way we heal.
I wanted to create a way for people to carry those words close — literally. That’s how Positive Osmosis was born. Every hoodie, hat, and bag carries an affirmation, sometimes hidden on the inside, sometimes tucked where only the wearer knows it’s there. These are quiet reminders of strength, hope, and worth that travel with you throughout the day.
Positive Osmosis is about more than clothing. It’s about absorbing positivity, reclaiming your worth, and being part of a larger circle of healing. The affirmations are placed on the inside because everyone’s journey is deeply personal — it’s your quiet strength, held close to your heart.
And they make beautiful, meaningful gifts. When you give someone a piece from Positive Osmosis, you’re not just giving them apparel — you’re giving them support, encouragement, and a reminder that they are not alone.
With every piece, 25% of profits are donated to programs that help others on their recovery journey. Because healing is not just possible — it’s already within us.
Next week, I’ll share the story of how one simple phrase became the heartbeat of Positive Osmosis… To be continued.
